Velociraptor is our ultimate FPGA camera with a very large Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA and high speed imaging sensor. It is based on new GigaBee modules, which incorporates dual DDR3 memory and gigabit Ethernet. With the latest global shutter CMOSIS imaging sensors and a real-time JPEG compressor, Velociraptor HS offers maximum sensor frame rates over gigabit Ehernet and range of user-installable image-processing cores.
In all models, the maximum data transfer rate is limited by the GigE speed to about 110 megabytes/second. This will limit the frame rate in the raw video models to about one-eighth of the sensor maximum speed. The full JPEG compression models allow the GigE link to transmit compressed data st the full sensor frame rate. The light JPEG compressions models allow the sensor to run at half the maximum frame rate. Some sample frame rates:
